Driftwood is a surprisingly spacious cottage located in the Dorset village of Langton Matravers, within easy reach of Swanage and Corfe Castle.
Stepping inside this property, you are greeted by a sitting room which is the perfect place to relax after a day out exploring this stunning area. This pleasant room has comfortable seating, a TV and DVD player with a good selection of DVDs and leads through to the open-plan dining room which provides an ideal social space for a family get together, with a dining table, chairs and a sideboard with a good selection of family games for a competitive night in or a choice of books for a quiet relaxing evening.
Beyond the dining room is a kitchen, with an electric oven and gas hob, a fridge/freezer and a microwave. There is a small lobby area which provides storage for coats and boots and the door to the rear garden, and then beyond, a a bathroom with bath with Mira power shower, WC and wash basin.
Heading upstairs to the first floor there are two bedrooms, a spacious twin bedroom, with windows overlooking the front, and a smaller twin bedroom, with a window overlooking the rear garden and to the hills beyond. Heading up the stairs again to the top floor there is a large bedroom, which has a double bed and with a South facing window providing plenty of sunlight. The stair to this bedroom are open, with no doorway. This property provides one bath towel per guests, and just one hand towel in the bathroom.
Stepping outside from the kitchen, to the rear garden, you can relax and enjoy a drink or meal on the small patio area, then a path leads along the garden and opens out to provide an almost hidden garden, which has a large secluded lawn and patio area with garden furniture and BBQ, a perfect spot for the end of the day, to spend a relaxing evening or for the children to run around and play in this enclosed garden.
This property does not have dedicated parking, but there is parking along the road where Driftwood is located. Driftwood is perfectly placed to pop in to the friendly village pub, for a drink or a meal, or pick up a treat from Trevor’s Deli when you do not want to cook.

Had lovely weeks break at Driftwood. The Cottage is well equipped for all our needs. We had the best weather (maybe a bit too hot) and made good use of the beaches. Loved the pub over the road!! Our dog had the best time too.
We had a lovely last-minute holiday at Driftwood Cottage, fantastic weather (great to escape the blistering heat in London!), fun on the beaches, a fascinating trip to the Etches Collection and delicious lunch at Clavells. The children loved playing in the garden and admiring the fossil collection. Happy memories!
We had a lovely week - great location and very cosy cottage, well equipped. Thank you!
Fantastic week, love this area. Langton Matravers is the perfect base to explore. Ballard Down walk over the top and down to Manor Farm for a cream tea is our favourite!.
Thank you for a lovely week, Albie had a great 12th birthday here. Cottage well equipped and beds lovely and comfortable.
We had a lovely week here, thank you. Mostly raining - so beaches, walking, dancing ledge, waterpark. Found the cottage very well equipped and comfortable. Great evening meal at The Black Swan. We also discovered the deli inside the Kings Arms!!
We had a great time at Driftwood Cottage. As we did not come by car, it was hugely valuable that the bus stopped more or less outside, and that we could shop for wine and groceries at the store opposite. We liked the cottage, it is in a pleasant setting in the village. The kitchen is well equipped, and the living room and bedrooms comfortable. We slept and ate well. We were able to watch the TV but unable to play video or DVD, and could not find instructions - they may have been removed because of COVID. It did not matter much as the weather was mostly great and we had some wonderful walks. There was also a good selection of books!
Just back from a wonderful holiday in Drfitwood Cottage in Langton Matravers. The cottage was so comfortable with pretty much all you would expect and more including high quality kitchen utensils. The beds were very comfortable with a king sized bed in the master and two singles in each of the other rooms. A great garden which gets the afternoon sun and use of the BBQ for lovely relaxed evenings. Be mindful of the street parking, we always found somewhere to park but just not always outside the cottage. We would love to return to stay - the location is perfectly central for all the places we love to visit when in Swanage.
We really liked Driftwood Cottage and found it very clean and tidy, very well-equipped and very comfortable. We liked its relative simplicity - it felt just like a relaxed, family holiday cottage should be. Also an excellent position for walking, and families with young children would find it easy to get into Swanage, but still able to stay in a quiet, rural spot. Good value for money, too - and we liked dealing with your smaller, local agency, rather than the massive and more expensive Air b&b. In short, we hope to book with you again!
What a lovely cottage, perfect location, close to plenty of fantastic dog walks. Comfortable beds, a great shower and all the kitchen equipment you could desire.
Thank you so much for a lovely stay in your wonderful cottage. It was perfect, especially the great kitchen, the decor, the comfortable bed, the cleanliness, we appreciated it all!
We had a lovely stay, it was a bonus to be able to start a walk straight from the door and there was a good bus service as well. The cottage was just right, a well stocked kitchen, clean and nice decor.
